Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust
Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust, is a registered charity that was established over 25 years ago by Mr Mahendra Mehta. It was set up in order to tackle the problems of poverty in Mumbai, especially amongst young children. From its humble origins as a family institution it has grown rapidly, and now its projects cover a wide range of activities located in both India and other developing countries, including Afghanistan, Sudan, Kenya and Burundi.
Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust is committed to the welfare of people from the most underprivileged strata of society without distinction of caste, creed or color. Its emphasis is on assisting the children and youth who are the citizens of tomorrow and the disabled who need a support to help them join mainstream society.

Vision 1 Million-empowering students in rural maharashtra with essilor high quality prescription glasses FREE to make them read better both books and blackboard09-15-2019
Execution of Vision 1 Million in association with Essilor & Govt of Maharastra started in earnest from 1st august.
Ground reach to 3.45 Lac Students are being screened in 2000+ schools in Rural Villages of 18 districts by a team of more then 200 doctors .
Painstakingly data of each student is being captured for vision correction numbers School wise,Village wise,Taluka wise & District wise with name of doctors checking the eye sight.
A classic case of NGO-MNC-GOVT Partnership which gives Vision to a Million students in the state who now will be able to read the text on the blackboard in the school and read the text books clearly.
This will make amazing differnce to his learning ability and to get good grades in board exams leading to better studies and future.
In the nineteenth camp of Vision 10000, Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust in association with Essilor Vision Foundation & Titan Eye Plus organized a FREE Eye Camp to screen 45 BMC workers of the conservation department. The camp was conducted on on the 11th of March 2019 at BMC office in D Ward.
At the camp, eye measurements and screening for other eye care ailments was done by doctors from Lotus College of Optometry, Lotus Eye Hospital.
Fine quality lenses, provided by Essilor Vision Foundation, will be fitted into spectacles and the ready spectacles will be distributed for free to all the school students prescribed by the optometrist within 4 weeks of the screening camp.
